South Side Pie Challenge 2024: November 2 from 2 to 5 pm, IN A NEW LOCATION FOR ONE TIME THIS YEAR!

Pies are $5/slice beginning at 2 pm. Cash preferred.

Bakers and Pie Fans, after two pandemic editions of the South Side Pie Challenge–the Virtual Pie Challenge in Spring of 2020 and Pie It Forward in Fall of 2020, plus the outdoor Pie Challenge in 2021, and 2023, our biggest fundraising year ever for local hunger causes–WE ARE BACK AGAIN!

This year, we look forward to seeing you for the Pie Challenge at the Ray Elementary School in Hyde Park on Saturday, November 2, 2024.

Join us as we celebrate the art of baking and eating pie! We will again be raising money for the Hyde Park/Kenwood Hunger Programs! We will again be holding one of the city’s longest-running juried amateur pie-baking events! We will again come together as a community to support our neighbors and our beautiful South Side!

Are you ready to compete again with your friends and neighbors for pie ascendancy? Are you ready to fundraise for hunger relief? Register now!

Instructions for bakers on November 2: please deliver TWO IDENTICAL PIES in disposable pie pans to the Ray Elementary School, 5631 S. Kimbark Ave, between the hours of 9:00 am and 10:30 am.

* Due to health and safety concerns, pies with MERINGUE topping can’t be accepted, please top with Whipped Cream instead.

If you’d like to support us but aren’t interested in baking, donate to the Hyde Park and Kenwood Hunger Programs via PayPal! (no PayPal account needed, select the credit/debit card option)
